Welcome to the continuing efforts by this old-time print journo to teach myself as much as possible about the enchanting world of visual storytelling.
I started these efforts slowly in mid-2007 largely out of a sense of self-preservation. What I hadn’t expected was how thoroughly and how quickly I’d fall in love with all these different, much more dynamic approaches to storytelling. Traditional journalists so often fear the “new” media. Instead, we all should be embracing this new world not just as something that’s essential, but as something that’s a whole lot of fun, tremendously stimulating, and abundantly rewarding.
I only wish I’d taken up the camera -- both still and video -- a few decades ago.
